Hello Adventurers,
Happy Spring, everyone! While it certainly hasn't felt like it the past week, Spring is finally here and with it comes the Ohio Open Water Season.
We are more prepared this year than ever before, thanks to our amazing instructional staff - led by our Head of Instruction, Mike Myers along with Instructor Trainer, Tim Brown.
And we have been adding to both our team of professionals and shop staff. Please welcome to the team:

April 20th won't just be our Grand Opening, we will also be celebrating John Duhigg and his next chapter working at Yellowstone! We will certainly miss having John with us at the shop, but we couldn't be more excited for him to start this exciting new career path.
Additionally, I hope you've seen some of the amazing photos taken of the new shop by Mark Thomas of Mark and Shelly Photography on our social channels - Facebook and Instragram. It was delightful working with him and I highly recommend his work - he truly does capture moments, emotions and stories in a single frame.
Open Water Season
Now is the perfect time to start your Open Water Diver journey, if you aren't already SCUBA certified. The open water season in Ohio starts in May and we have several 2-week and accelerated weekend classes available.
Be sure to sign up for your Open Water Diver Certification Dives if you've finished your academics and confined water training. Remember, you only have a year to get these done!
We do have room left in the April 27th Dry Suit Diver class, if you're looking to start your season early.
We have continued to build out the season schedule with some classics and new class opportunities:
- Advanced Adventure Diver – Great for new divers looking to accelerate their skill development. This class involves some online academics followed by 5 open water dives over 2 days at Gilboa. You will learn skills in deep, navigation, night, buoyancy plus search and recovery. $100 off when you bundle with Open Water Diver using code AADOW01
- Deep Diver
- Rescue Diver
- Search and Recovery
- Sidemount Diver
- Underwater Navigation Diver
- Wreck Diver
Travel Updates
Despite the weather at the beginning of the trip, our February Cozumel trip goers made the most of their time there led by instructor, Jamie Rankin. The shots taken from the Cenotes are just breathtaking. Too deep for me, but certainly something to put on your bucket list - planned again for early 2025.
St Croix in early March on the Juliet did not disappoint, no surprise there. About half the boat included divers not from Central Ohio who plan to travel with us again in the future.
If you can believe it, we have already sold out the December trip to Belize. We must have packaged this trip just right! We will capitalize on these learnings for future trips. To get on the waitlist, please complete a registration form here on this webpage.

We will begin revealing 2025 trips at our upcoming Monthly Travel Socials.

Events
Our Grand Opening celebration at our new shop location kicks off on April 20th. We have typical hours from 10am-4pm that Saturday but the sale will last through 4/26. Our reps from Aqualung, Huish, Tabata and Kraken will be with us that day so we will have extra toys for you to choose from (and giveaways!).
Weather permitting, we will have a tent out back where we will be grilling some food and enjoying drinks and company. You can stay up to date on all the latest news regarding our Grand Opening and RSVP here on Facebook.
Our monthly Travel Social is at a different restaurant in the Bethel Rd area each month. Next one is scheduled for 6:30pm, April 17th at Gallo's Taproom. You can RSVP here on Facebook.
