Hello Adventurers,
We have had an amazing spring so far here at the shop. Our Grand Opening was a huge success, kicking off the open water season with a bang. We will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day, but we are open as usual Saturday the 25th.
I also had a wonderful trip out to San Fransico for the SECORE annual board meeting. I can't wait to share some exciting findings that will be published soon regarding the bleaching event this past summer in the Caribbean.
Amaya Martin was promoted to Scuba Experience Lead and just celebrated her first work year anniversary with us - congrats, Amaya!
We also hired another Retail Associate, Andrew Leasure, a Rescue Diver. You will see Andrew a lot this summer until his college studies start back up again in August.

Open Water Season
Starting May 31st, we will be extending our Friday hours from 6pm to 7pm for the season.
Now is the perfect time to start your Open Water Diver journey, if you aren't already SCUBA certified. The open water season in Ohio has started and we have several class options available.
Be sure to sign up for your Open Water Diver Certification Dives if you've finished your academics and confined water training. Remember, you only have a year to get these done!
We have a full schedule of specialties on the calendar as well:
- Advanced Adventure Diver – Great for new divers looking to accelerate their skill development. This class involves some online academics followed by 5 open water dives over 2 days at Gilboa. You will learn skills in deep, navigation, night, buoyancy plus search and recovery.

Travel Updates
I hope you were able to view the amazing photos captured by our Roatan travelers during the April trip. I'd recommend following our trip lead and instructor, Paul Marquardt, on Facebook for these beauties.
We have 1 upgrade room option left for the December Belize trip. There are 19 people going - our largest group since the pandemic! You can register for the trip here on this webpage.
The Aquatic Adventures Dive Club has some great domestic trips slated for this summer. Each is listed as an event on Facebook.
As far as 2025, we have chosen our initial destinations for the year. Here is the current slate:
- January: Grand Bahama
- February: Mexico Cenote Diving
- March/April/May: Bayahibe, Dominican Republic
- July: Portugal - diving the Azores plus site seeing in Portugal
- August: Florida Keys on the Juliet
- September: St Lucia
- November: Little Cayman
We will be releasing dates and webpages for booking these trips soon!
Events
If you've ever thought about becoming a dive pro, we are hosting another Dive Pro Info Night at the shop on July 17th at 6pm. RSVP here on Facebook.
Since we do not have any global trips planned this summer, we encourage everyone to meet up at the monthly dive club social nights. The next one is scheduled for June 6th starting at 6:30pm.
